SAVORTEX, the young and ambitious, technology-driven British Manufacturer of super low energy hand dryers has donated and recently helped to raise over £7,000 for the charity, ChildrenPlus. The charity, which helps children who live in Bangladesh, held a fundraising dinner in May and CEO of SAVORTEX, Syed Ahmed was invited to be a guest speaker. A donation of just £10.00 ensures a child receives a blanket and a pair of sandals.

Syed Ahmed said: “Despite its recent advances in growth, Bangladesh is still a country subject to on-going political upheaval and frequent natural disasters. It is still one of the poorest countries in the world and, according to UN statistics, over 75% of its 160 million population live on less than 2 US$ a day. One of the most precarious groups currently living in Bangladesh are the refugee Rohingya people who have been forced out from their homeland in neighbouring Burma. SAVORTEX is seeking additional donations to help reach the target of £15,000 which is the amount needed to build one of many, much needed schools in Bangladesh.”

He went on to say: “Since we began trading, charity work has always been something we have done in the background. Last year, we took part in a number of charitable activities for WaterAid, including the six peaks challenge and the Great North Run where we collectively raised over £10,000.”

As part of the campaign, Children Plus, in its inaugural year, is aiming to build three Street Schools in Bangladesh targeting some of the most destitute and impoverished children living in the streets and slums of Bangladesh’s 3 biggest cities: Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. In the future they are hoping to carry our similar projects in other parts of the world.

In addition to clean, well-constructed schools and classrooms, the charity aims to ensure clean drinking water and sanitation facilities are available at each of the schools they build and support, in order to help improve the health of the children. The schools will be free for children to attend, with additional sponsorship programmes covering costs for any fees, lunch, books and uniforms.

SAVORTEX is a British designer and manufacturer of low energy, sustainable washroom power hand dryers. The Vortex 540 is also available in Diamond White and Metallic Grey.

SAVORTEX holds The Guinness World Records title for most hands dried using 30kJ of energy. This was devised by Guinness World Records officials as a challenge to measure the energy efficiency in hand drying. The Vortex EcoSmart successfully dried four pairs of hands using less than 30kJ of energy. Typically, hand dryers use between 72kJ and 96kJ of power to dry just one pair of hands.

SAVORTEX successfully achieved four pairs of dry hands using just under 25kJ of energy – smashing the minimums set by Guinness World Records officials and claiming the world record.
