(A) Free People: An Illusion

By Michael Smith (Veshengro)

What is democracy We are being told that we are free people by the powers that be and that we have this lovely democratic system. But this does not really compute at all, the free bit for starters, when we consider that we must have a passport – that is to say permission – to leave our own country and to reenter it again. That is not the sign of a free people.

In addition to that a passport, according to the British authorities, is a privilege and not a right and that one can be refused one and that despite the EU and UN resolutions, signed by Britain, that state that everyone has the right of travel documents.

The various communist- and other -dictatorships were accused of violating people's rights by not granting a passport to all of their citizens and the right to leave the country and to deny them travel abroad. Many of the countries that did such accusing, however, are also not much better in that department.

A Gypsy born on the road without a birth certificate, or people who by their very persuasion refuse to have their births registered, cannot get “travel” documents and thus, while they may be regarded as citizens, are not afforded the same rights as other citizens of this or that country. (A) free people indeed... NOT!!!

If you are not willing to be part of the system with its records intended for the powers that be to be able to monitor our lives from birth till death (and beyond if they but could) you cannot do many things. Think we are free? Think again!

You need a driver's license to drive, government permission – yes, permission – in order to get (legally) married, in the form of a marriage license, a permit for this and a permit for that, and you are not allowed, in the UK (and also in other EU countries), basically, to use force, especially deadly force, to defend yourself, your loved ones and your property. This all makes us anything but free.

The state even is beginning to tell us what we are allowed to eat and drink. No “raw” milk, no this or that, and they even want to outlaw the use of fatty foods and Denmark is beginning this with a huge tax on bacon, on dripping, on butter, etc. Free indeed... NOT!!!

while I do agree with certain rules, regulations and laws other rules and laws are but a way for the powers that be to control us and to getting money, in the form of taxes and fees, from us.

You buy a piece of land to, eventually, build a home for yourself and your family, but you can only do so if, and that is a big if, the authorities give you the permission to do so. Once again against a rather juicy fee. You, in fact, have to pay that fee whether or not they grant you permission simply for the application to build.

You think you own the land for which you paid good money and lots of it but the truth is that, as far as the government is concerned, you only lease it from the government. You will never own it even though you paid for the deeds for it for the property taxes that you are FORCED to pay is, basically, your annual rent for this property that you though you have bought.

This is also why the powers that be can come and forcibly take the land away from you if they decide they need it to build a road, a railway track or a power station, etc.

The government also assumes that it owns you and your children if you and they have a birth certificate. One of the many reason that some people refuse to register births.

The fact that the governments regard children as their property can be seen clearly by the fact that they decide what is right for the child and thus your child can be taken away from you for a great variety of reasons – or even none – and be placed in care or even given away. Free people we are not.

We are but serfs, in reality, (to the system) and while the American people may think themselves as being different to those of us in Europe, regarding themselves as sovereigns, the truth is that, just like us Europeans, they are in the same boat.

The Americans are no different and we are all but slaves in our countries and their regimes. The freedom of which they who we allow(?) to govern us speak is but an illusion to appease the masses.

We are no more free then the serf and villain of old was free. And while the United States may have been founded on different principles – or at least the people thought that it was – the people themselves have given away their rights and freedoms in exchange for a perceived security.

It is all but an illusion...
